Marketer! Don’t fool yourself!

Every marketer hates to admit this:

It is too easy to fool yourself if you are not happy with the results.

Sometimes, the campaign results are obviously bad.

In no way, it is possible to calculate a positive ROI for the campaign.

We were just losing money.

But very few people want to admit this.

So we try to explain it away.

“Oh yes, the sales were not good. But we should not forget the brand response!”

(And of course, we didn’t even measure the brand response.)

Just take a deep breath and admit your campaign wasn’t successful.

This is the only road to improvement.
